CLIENT FOCUS: Anytime Fitness Opens 1,000th Club!
Anytime Fitness, a franchisor of 24-hour co-ed fitness centers based in Hastings, Minnesota, recently became the first and only co-ed fitness club chain in the world to open its 1,000th club. An impressive milestone in itself, the company is also continuing to thrive and expand even in difficult economic times, demonstrated by the fact that Anytime Fitness has opened 90 clubs in the last two months alone.
Anytime Fitness clubs are open 24/7, and attract members who desire a quick and efficient workout opportunity. In fact, Anytime Fitness focuses on the desire of many members to complete a “30 minute workout in 31 minutes.” Not only that, the chain is attracting members seeking lower monthly dues than those charged at most “big box” fitness chains.
The opening of the 1,000th club brings additional benefits to existing Anytime Fitness members, due to the “Anywhere Club Access Policy.” This policy ensures that one membership allows the member to access all Anytime Fitness clubs. The opening of the 1,000th club means that Anytime Fitness members will have more access to fitness centers in their local community and worldwide.
Recent accolades for Anytime Fitness include Franchise Business Review’s top rating and FBR 50 Franchisee Satisfaction Award for the fourth year in a row, Entrepreneur’s ratings of ninth fastest-growing franchise, 41st top global franchise, and 12th top low-cost franchise of 2009, and The National Minority Franchising Initiative named Anytime Fitness among its “Top 50 Franchises For Minorities.” Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal ranked Anytime Fitness No. 1 on its “Fast 50” list of the fastest-growing private companies in Minnesota for 2008.
Additionally, Anytime Fitness co-founders Jeff Klinger and Chuck Runyon were recently honored by the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association with an “Industry Visionary Award,” the first time this award has been given in three years.
Larkin Hoffman began serving as outside counsel to Anytime Fitness in November of 2004, when the company had only 41 clubs. We appreciate the opportunity to assist the company in its growth.
