Defending Against Appeal of Conditional use Permit for Construction Project

Bill Griffith and Bob Long represented Hawkins, Inc. in securing a conditional use permit (CUP) from the City of St. Paul for eight new storage tanks on land leased by the St. Paul Port Authority, near the Mississippi River. The project became contentious when residential neighbors actively opposed it after construction had commenced. The Larkin Hoffman team provided legal and government relations services to Hawkins, simultaneously defending against an appeal of the company’s CUP for the new tanks and opponents’ petition to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for an environmental assessment worksheet (EAW) of the project.
