Minnesota Court of Appeals Issues Ruling Interpreting Minnesota’s Fair Labor Standards Act Regarding Exempt Status of Employees

The Minnesota Court of Appeals issued a decision on August 25, 2009 regarding the Minnesota Fair Labor Standards Act in Erdman v. Life Time Fitness, Inc., --- N.W.2d ---, 2009 WL 2596017 (Minn. Ct. App.).  In this case, the court distinguished the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act from Minnesota law. 

 Federal Contractors Are Now Required to Use E-Verify

Effective September 8, 2009, federal contractors and subcontractors are required to use E-Verify to verify their employees’ eligibility to work in the United States.
