Larkin Hoffman Launches ‘North Star Land Use’ Blog
Larkin Hoffman’s land use practice launched its North Star Land Use blog Tuesday, Aug. 1. The blog’s primary contributors include Peter Coyle, Bill Griffith, Jacob Steen and Matthew Bergeron. North Star Land Use will identify and discuss land use issues and trends arising in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest with a perspective that is grounded in broad, substantial experience.
“Larkin Hoffman is a market leader in land use and real estate law,” Griffith said. “We know our clients rely on us for the most up to date information as they make critical real estate decisions that affect their businesses.”
Coyle said he and his colleagues look forward to providing a convenient, reliable resource for insight into how development projects get done.
“We know the delicate balance involved in making sure a development project is progressing,” he said. “Obtaining financing, approvals, licenses and resolving possible disputes are all part of the process. We’re glad to share our experience and other information on the new blog.”
In recent posts, the authors have written about obstacles that developers face, how property owners may be impacted by a recent decision by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, possible zoning changes in St. Paul and amendments to the Metropolitan Council’s regional plan.
Larkin Hoffman’s land use attorneys represent developers and government entities in all aspects of the land use process, including zoning and comprehensive plan changes, subdivision and preliminary plat approvals, planned unit developments, conditional use permits, interim use permits, variances, and business licensing, public finance, government relations and enforcement. They assist clients contemplating development opportunities by streamlining the process and negotiating the approvals necessary to get the project done.
