Long Distance Mediation Avoids Court Hearing in Custody Case

01/09/2012

When a father’s young children were taken from the United States to Europe by his wife, the father contacted Larkin Hoffman for support. Instead of seeking a costly court hearing, Larkin Hoffman attorney Rob Hill suggested hiring a mediator specializing in the needs of children whose parents are going through a divorce.  Using Skype, the client was able to talk to his children for the first time in many months.  The mediator was able to bring the parties together and set up a schedule for the client to visit his children in Europe.  Both the client and his wife believed that the outcome was in the children’s best interests and were relieved to have agreed upon a visitation schedule without court intervention.
