Overcoming City Opposition to School District’s Proposed New Building

08/03/2011

When an urban school district encountered opposition from a community in which a new school building was proposed, the district turned to Larkin Hoffman to guide its presentation to the local planning commission and city council.  The Larkin Hoffman team advised the school district on the condition of its application, made recommendations for improvements, and instructed the district in the legal standards required for both the city and district.  Ultimately, by a divided vote, both the planning commission and city council approved the new school building as proposed.
