Pat Plunkett Receives 2016 Bob Hoffman Community Service Award


Larkin Hoffman is pleased to announce that Pat Plunkett has been honored as the recipient of the 2016 Bob Hoffman Community Service Award. For more than 20 years, Pat has served on The Salvation Army’s executive committee, including two years as chair of the Twin Cities Advisory Board of the Salvation Army. He is also chair of the property committee.

“Pat has demonstrated outstanding community service in connection with his tireless and never ending involvement with, and commitment to, The Salvation Army." Larkin Hoffman President Bill Griffith said. “Because of his personal involvement and commitment, Pat has been recognized not only locally but also nationally by The Salvation Army.”

Pat has an established reputation for generously giving his time and effort to many other Twin Cities-based nonprofit organizations throughout the years. He has served as board chair for Hennepin Theatre Trust, Minnesota Business Hall of Fame and the Executive Committee of The Catholic Spirit. He has also been a board member of many other organizations, including Associations North, the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce and the Saint Paul Winter Carnival.

In his legal practice, Pat advises individuals in estate and tax planning, wills and trusts, probate, powers of attorney and pre-nuptial agreements. He represents privately held businesses in business formation, mergers and acquisitions and customer contracts. His work with nonprofits includes advising organizations on board policies and procedures, charitable contributions and corporate sponsorships.

The firm presents the Bob Hoffman Community Service Award annually to an employee who best demonstrates that exemplary commitment to community service. Larkin Hoffman employees nominate their co-workers who they identify as someone who most exemplifies the spirit of service to the community that was established as a guiding principle for the firm by founder Bob Hoffman. Throughout his career, Bob earned a reputation as a great real estate and land use attorney as well as a man who generously gave back to his community and it is in honor of Bob that the firm established this award.
