Real Estate: Assisted Non-Profit College with Campus Expansion

05/30/2014

A non-profit college located in a historic district of a large city turned to Tom Alexander to assist with its campus expansion. Tom represented the college during the negotiation of several purchase and lease transactions. A few of those purchases included historic buildings which could not be demolished or changed on the exterior in any significant manner. Given these restrictions and the needs of the college, Tom helped the college with the relocation of the historic buildings off of the expanded campus. He also negotiated temporary leases for classrooms and other uses until the expanded campus could be built to its full potential. The relocation and temporary leases allowed the college to continue to grow and raise capital that would allow it to expand existing buildings and construct new buildings and parking lots within the expanded campus.
