Three Questions with Kyle Vick
Tell us about something that has shaped your career?
Resiliency. Adversity is part of life but it is what we do when faced with challenges that determine who we are. When confronted with a challenge or setback, I do not have time to wallow. Instead, I adapt and get to work.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
For me, it is all about helping people out of a tough spot. When clients come to me for legal representation in a litigated matter, they are coming to me to solve a problem. By understanding where a client is coming from and what their goals are, I can help clients reach the best outcome possible. Putting my knowledge and experience to work in order to provide clients with peace of mind and a way through their troubles is immensely gratifying.
What advice do you have for someone new to the industry?
Preparation is everything. The fastest way to get yourself and more importantly your client, in a bad place, is to rely on what you think the law is or to decide that you know “enough.” Do the work. Read the law, read the rules and anticipate what the other side will argue. Ensure you are the most prepared person in the room when it’s game day.
