
Practice Overview
Jacob M. Saufley advises businesses, developers, and property owners in land use, zoning, transactional, and development matters. He assists clients seeking approvals for regulatory and licensing matters, including liquor licensing. Jacob also assists in home-owners association and landlord-tenant matters.
Jacob's strength lies in his versatility and the depth of his experience with real estate and local governments. He has served as a city attorney for several municipalities in the west metro, as real estate counsel for private developers and investors and has maintained a general real estate practice for individuals and small businesses.
Jacob has experience handling a wide variety of issues including negotiating and drafting developer's agreements, purchase agreements, AIA-series contracts, lease agreements, easements, conditional use permits, variances, lot splits and boundary line adjustments, amending special assessment agreements, as well as assisting with a variety of zoning actions and code interpretations.
Outside of his legal practice, Jacob is the vice chair of the Minneapolis Zoning Board of Adjustment. In his free time, Jacob stays active by cycling, running, cross country and downhill skiing, golfing, and playing basketball.
