Carriann Sillman is an attorney in the Franchise and Distribution practice group. She has worked as in-house counsel in several industries, most recently supporting multi-brand real estate franchising in domestic and international markets. In that role, Carriann was primary brand counsel for four domestic and eight international real estate franchise brands.

In her practice, Carriann focuses on franchise sales and servicing, agreement negotiation, domestic and international regulatory issues, operational risk mitigation, business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and international growth of both direct and master franchise models.

Carriann has co-authored multiple articles for major franchise publications, has been featured on franchise podcasts, and was selected to present at the upcoming American Bar Association Forum on Franchising. She also serves on the International Franchise Association’s 2027 Legal Symposium Task Force, and as a Mentee on the ABA Forum’s 2025 Past Chair Mentoring Circle. Previously, she created and taught an ABA-approved course on Franchise Regulatory Law for the Fairleigh Dickinson University Paralegal Studies Program in Madison, New Jersey.
