The Larkin Hoffman Health Care Law team focuses on the complex and changing legal environment of health care. We serve a broad range of clientele across the health care industry, including medical and dental clinics, individual health care professionals and their practices, hospitals, community and rural health clinics, nursing homes, certified nursing organizations, home health agencies, regional provider consortia, shared service organizations, accountable care organizations, and health care trade associations.
Our experienced team delivers a variety of services, including: negotiation and structuring of joint ventures and Professional Service Agreements (PSAs); negotiation of HMO and PPO coverage contracts and provider agreements; design of capital structure of and financial relationships in professional practice groups (e.g., compensation methods and buyout arrangements); and organizational design, including corporate structure and medical staff matters. We also represent providers in medical staff and license discipline disputes as well as the design and management of malpractice and other liability risk management systems.
We regularly counsel clients in the areas of reimbursement (private, Medicare and Medicaid); patients’ rights, including termination of treatment; professional credentialing and licensing; and personal health service financing. Additionally, we negotiate with state and federal regulatory, payer and financing agencies including accountable care organizations and draft and influence legislation and administrative regulations. We also represent health plans in plan design and regulatory compliance matters.
More broadly, we assist health care clients with such business matters as mergers, acquisitions, employee benefits, employment issues, taxation, governance, intellectual property protection and other corporate requirements.
