Larkin Hoffman Attorneys Attend International Franchise Association’s Legal Symposium

May 26, 2026

Larkin Hoffman franchise attorneys Joe Fittante, Chuck Modell, and Max Schott, II attended the International Franchise Association (IFA) 2026 Legal Symposium in Washington, D.C.

The IFA Legal Symposium featured a breadth of valuable programming addressing the latest developments in business and franchise law. Topics ranged from non-traditional franchising models to trademarks and trade secrets, franchise liability, succession planning, and more. In addition, a legislative session discussed changes to state and federal franchise laws, providing up-to-date information on the legal landscape for franchising.

At the Symposium, Larkin Hoffman President Joe Fittante moderated a roundtable about advanced franchise performance representations. The discussion focused on the use of advanced financial performance representations to provide critical information to potential franchise buyers, and what litigators look for when assessing Item 19 disclosures.

“The IFA Legal Symposium shared valuable information that will impact how we practice franchise law and advocate for our clients,” said Max Schott, II, Chair of the Franchise Law practice group. “We’re committed to staying informed about any new developments or strategies in franchise law to better serve our clients and their growing businesses.”
