Larkin Hoffman's attorneys Megan Rogers and Jake Steen have joined forces with the Just Deeds coalition, which aims to eliminate the discriminatory impact of racially restrictive covenants in Hennepin and Ramsey counties. 

As a volunteer for the Just Deeds Coalition, our attorneys assist property owners in Hennepin and Ramsey counties in removing discriminatory covenants from their property's legal title. These covenants were historically used to prevent people of color from purchasing homes in various Minnesota neighborhoods, resulting in a century of segregated communities.

Larkin Hoffman's attorneys have joined the network of volunteers supporting the Just Deeds program. Their goal is to rectify historical injustices by formally eliminating racial covenants from property records, transforming homeownership into a symbol of inclusivity rather than a perpetuator of discrimination.

Racial covenants have had profound consequences, contributing to housing disparities and racial segregation.
