Larkin Hoffman has been a proud sponsor of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) and their summer law clerkship program for several years. TCDIP is a nonprofit organization created by legal employers in the Twin Cities working together to build a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive legal community here in Minnesota. The summer program is designed to help launch the careers of students of color in the Twin Cities by placing students with member law firms and corporate legal departments.

This year, Larkin Hoffman has had the pleasure of sponsoring Ahmed Nasman, a student at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Ahmed is an active member of the law school community and recently served on a panel to educate students, faculty, and staff on the crisis in the Middle East. Ahmed brings a unique perspective as he grew up in the Palestinian city of Gaza.

Ahmed spent the first half of his summer clerking for the firm and will spend the second half of the summer in the legal department of our partnering organization, Self Esteem Brands. We could not be happier with his experience so far:

This summer has been a spectacular steppingstone in my legal career. Larkin Hoffman has set a prime example of how a law firm should support upcoming lawyers and embrace the true meaning of diversity and inclusion. I am now gaining in-house experience at Self Esteem Brands, a leading business in the fitness and wellness industry. I truly could not have asked for a better experience. – Ahmed Nasman

“As we continue to grow our firm to serve great companies like Self Esteem Brands, we are honored to be an active player in our community assisting those learning our profession,” said Joe Fittante, President of Larkin Hoffman. “It has been a pleasure to work with Ahmed this summer. We are grateful to play even a small role in his becoming a great lawyer.”
