Shareholder Peter Coyle was a co-presenter on a panel discussion regarding development contracts at Sensible Land Use Coalition’s February meeting. He presented best practice tips on negotiating development contracts and discussed common issues that arise during negotiations, including excessive/unauthorized fees, park dedication authority and process for calculating park fees, and clarification of roles and responsibilities once the development contract is executed.
Sensible Land Use Coalition exists to foster better understanding of the challenges associated with land use development in Minnesota. Its members include developers, cities, development consultants and real estate professionals. Larkin Hoffman helped organize the coalition more than 40 years ago.
