Eleven members of the Larkin Hoffman Franchise and Distribution practice group attended the 2026 annual meeting of the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising.
Held in Toronto, the Forum featured three intensive programs, two plenaries, and more than 20 workshops on a range of topics related to franchise law. The event also held networking events and other opportunities to meet and connect with fellow attendees.
Larkin Hoffman attorneys gained valuable insights that will strengthen their ability to deliver exceptional legal counsel and service to franchise clients.
In addition, three attorneys were selected to speak at the Forum. Silas Petersen joined a panel on strategic franchise transfers, providing guidance on legal and business considerations involved in franchise transfers and ownership changes. Carriann Sillman presented strategies for using franchise audits to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and strengthen dispute outcomes. Finally, Max Schott, II discussed alternative business models, with information on identifying, navigating, and avoiding franchise and business opportunity law risks.
“The ABA Forum on Franchising is a valuable resource for franchise attorneys, providing the latest information on franchise law and practical guidance for those who practice it,” said Schott, chair of the Franchise and Distribution practice group. “Our attorneys left with insights and connections that will help us provide the best possible counsel to our clients.”
