Recognition
Shareholder and Larkin Hoffman President Joe Fittante once again served as a judge for the Scott County FAST-TRACK Business Challenge. The annual business competition, which marked its tenth year, helps community members, entrepreneurs, professionals and students win resources to launch a business or fast track it to the next level. Contestants presented their ideas and business plans to a panel of judges.
This year’s winner was sourdough pasta brand Leavyned™ from Lakeville, MN. The small business received more than $11,000 worth of funding and professional services donated by other local businesses.
“Community is about taking care of each other,” Fittante said. “What I love about this competition is that not only does the winner take home money, but all the finalists get vital mentorship and professional support from local businesses that come together to help.”
In all, the five finalists received more than $25,000 in funding and in-kind services.
